Project Information

The concept for the design was based on the narrow but long footprint of a traditional barn or stable. The form was broken up into three separate hubs.

Each of the three ‘Hubs’ have been orientated east-west to allow each room dual aspects of balanced north light and a south facing window overlooking the gardens.

Although the dwelling plays with a contemporary form, a simple palette of traditional materials are chosen. A mix of black timber cladding and red facing brick externals walls, complemented by black aluminium windows and grey slate tiles.
